Regional event - Relevance of Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Social Inclusion for the WB6’s Economic Development

The regional event “Importance of the WBL and social inclusion for the WB6 Economies Development” will be organized in close cooperation with the WB6 Chamber Investment Forum and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. The event will be held in their premises.

Date: May 31, 2023

Time: from 10 am to 2 pm

Place: Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Resavska 13 - 15, Belgrade

It will be organized as a hybrid event and is supposed to share the experiences of the WB6 Private Sector representatives, regarding, both formal and non-formal VET, work-based learning (WBL) and social inclusion. Since each of the WB6 economies is facing labour shortages, upskilling/reskilling of current and future employees is perceived as inevitable.

Background
Work-based learning as a form of vocational education and training is a method of developing the skills and competencies of individuals and reducing a supply-demand gap in the regional labour market. In the WB6 region, where there is a need for improving employability and productivity of the workforce, especially youth, WBL may play a primary role in promoting economic growth and social inclusion for the WB6’s economic development.

Keynote speakers at the conference will include representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, European Training Foundation, Office for Dual Education and National Qualifications Framework, WB6 Chamber Investment Forum, successful WBL programmes in the WB6 economies, WB6 inclusive private sector.

The event is organized by Education to Employment project, supported by Swiss, in cooperation with the Western Balkans 6 (WB6) Chamber Investment Forum and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS).
