Third Steering Committee meeting of the From Education to Employment project held in Belgrade

Belgrade, 16 September 2026 – The third Steering Committee meeting of Phase III of the Swiss-Serbian From Education to Employment project was held at the National Academy for Public Administration in Belgrade. Representatives of partner institutions and the project team met to review the results achieved so far, discuss implementation challenges and consider priorities for the coming year.

The meeting was opened by the Steering Committee co-chairs, Dragica Ivanović from the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and Katrin Ochsenbein, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Swiss Cooperation Office. Jovana Mihajlović from the Swiss Cooperation Office moderated the meeting.

Oliver Streit presented the key results of E2E Phase III, the main implementation challenges and the framework for planning activities in 2027. Participants also discussed current developments related to employment legislation. The second annual report of E2E Phase III was adopted, together with plans for the next year across all four project intervention areas.

Cooperation with companies and support for their internal training capacity formed another important part of the discussion. E2E works with companies that want to build and transfer knowledge within their teams, improve employee skills and establish effective training programmes suited to their business needs.

A separate session focused on the Job Info Center Association. Lazar Đoković presented its results, membership development and outlook for long-term sustainability. The discussion addressed the continued development of career guidance and counselling services and the role of Job Info Centers in supporting young people.

During the session on the Youth Guarantee, participants discussed youth centres, outreach to young people through civil society organisations and policy coordination. The discussion included representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Youth and the National Employment Service.

The final part of the meeting provided an opportunity for national partners to exchange views on labour market priorities, the next steps and their expectations of E2E in 2027.

The From Education to Employment project combines support for young people, the development of career services and cooperation with companies. Its activities help young people and employees acquire skills that are relevant to the labour market while enabling companies to strengthen their capacity for continuous learning and workforce development.
