Regional Forum in Kragujevac: Career Guidance as a Key to Labour Market Integration

Kragujevac, April 15, 2026 — The Education to Employment (E2E) project, in cooperation with the City of Kragujevac, organized a regional forum titled “Career Guidance as a Key to Labour Market Integration: From Results to Sustainable Local Solutions.” The event brought together representatives of institutions, local government, educational institutions, businesses, civil society organizations, and international partners.

The aim of the event was to present the results of the labour market integration project for vulnerable women in Kragujevac and the work of the Job Info Center Kragujevac, highlight activities focused on knowledge exchange among local partners, and initiate dialogue on the long-term institutional and financial sustainability of career guidance and counselling (CGC) services in the city.

Opening remarks were delivered by Oliver Streit, Director of the Education to Employment project, Jovana Mihajlović, representing the Embassy of Switzerland in Serbia, and SašErić, Head of the Department of Economic Affairs of the City of Kragujevac.

During the event, the following were presented:

  • Results of the labour market integration project for vulnerable women in Kragujevac (10 training participants, 8 employed)
  • Training programs in companies implemented by the Job Info Center Kragujevac (in more than 60 companies, with 1,400 participants in workplace training and a 70% employment rate after training)
  • Activities of the Job Info Center Association and the role of career practitioners (serving more than 11,700 users)
  • Experiences of local partners — representatives of the city administration, employers, schools, and the National Employment Service

A special segment of the program focused on policy development in the field of career guidance and counselling. Institutional representatives discussed national initiatives aimed at promoting CGC services, while findings on the economic impact of career guidance and counselling were also presented.

The discussion with participants focused on user needs and models for ensuring the long-term sustainability of Job Info Center Kragujevac services, highlighting the importance of local partnerships and institutional support.
