Career Development of Youth in Focus: Job Info Centers at SerbianSkills2025

As part of the WorldSkills Serbia 2025 event held in Niš from April 23 to 26, the “Education to Employment” (E2E) project showcased its career guidance activities and innovative tools through Job Info Centers from Niš, Pirot, and Knjaževac.

Organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Office for Dual Education and the National Qualifications Framework, the event brought together students, teachers, employers, and institutional representatives. High-level officials, including Swiss Ambassador Anne Lugon-Moulin, Austrian Ambassador Christian Ebner, the Mayor of Niš Dragoslav Pavlović, Gabriela Grujić (Office for Dual Education and NQF), and Mira Kovačević (Serbian Chamber of Commerce), attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, Swiss Ambassador Anne Lugon-Moulin stated:

“Young people in Niš and across Serbia today are getting a real opportunity to turn their knowledge into careers and sustainable businesses. That’s exactly where Switzerland is investing – in people, knowledge, and communities.”

This commitment is best reflected in the work of the Job Info Centers within the E2E project, implemented with the support of the Government of Switzerland. Throughout the event, career counselors were available to visitors, providing information, individual counseling, and demonstrations of tools that help young people make informed decisions about education and employment.

Visitors had the opportunity to try:

  • Wayfi – a career interest quiz that helps youth identify areas of interest and potential;
  • Identify test – aimed at raising awareness of personal skills and competencies;
  • Basic Check – a test of fundamental skills and knowledge relevant to the labor market;
  • VR career tool – an immersive virtual experience of various occupations, helping users discover what suits them best.

Besides exploring education and training options, participants engaged directly with career counselors to discuss their aspirations, development opportunities, and better understand the labor market dynamics.

The presence of Job Info Centers at SerbianSkills2025 reaffirms the importance of linking education with the world of work and empowering young people to plan their future through informed and strategic decisions. The E2E project will continue working with schools, companies, and municipalities to ensure accessible, high-quality career guidance services across Serbia.
