How Work-Based Learning and Carier Guidance and Counseling Are Transforming Local Communities?
Belgrade: At the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Education to Employment (E2E) project hosted a remarkable event titled “Work-Based Learning in Non-Formal Education – Success Factors” focusing on the exchange of best practices in work-based learning (WBL) and career guidance and counselling (CGC) for the development of the local communities.
This event, held as part of Dual Education Month, gathered key stakeholders from relevant institutions, companies, and organizations to discuss the vital factors influencing the success of work-based learning in non-formal contexts.
Key discussions centered on the elements of training quality, the importance of training mentors in companies, the selection of candidates and the importance of local communities’ investment in effective labor market measures.
Two panels were held during the event. The first addressed the fundamental elements of training quality, while the second focused on reaching suitable candidates and systemic support for organizing effective training.
“The round table provides a vital platform for exchanging experiences and ideas that will contribute to the further development of non-formal education and work-based learning systems in Serbia,” said Aleksandra Milić from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
One of the event’s highlights was the presentation of VR simulations, offering young people an engaging way to explore various career paths. Through a network of 11 Job Info Centers, the E2E project delivers modern CGC tools that bridge the gap between youth and the labor market.
A big thank you to inspiring panelists – representatives of companies, accredited non-formal education providers, schools, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, the National Employment Service, Kragujevac and Pirot local self-governments, civil society organizations – for sharing insights and showcasing high-quality services.
