Strengthening E2E Cooperation and Presence at the Local Level – First Meeting with the City of Smederevo

Smederevo, November 29, 2024 – A meeting was held today in the office of Jasmina Vojinović, Mayor of Smederevo, between representatives of the Swiss-Serbian “Education to Employment” (E2E) project and the local partner organization Pro.Tok21.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration and supporting Pro.Tok21’s activities aimed at empowering people in Smederevo in their career development. The discussion also emphasized concrete steps toward strengthening career guidance and counseling (CGC) and local-level employment capacities.

Key achievements of the E2E project in the Podunavlje District were presented:

  • Establishing and equipping a Job Info Center in Smederevo;
  • Training career practitioners and providing modern tools for CGC;
  • Building partnerships with local schools, with over 1,000 young people having already accessed CGC services, and several hundred more expected by year-end;
  • Supporting the local economy with investments exceeding 1 million RSD for on-the-job training programs in 2023.

Mayor Jasmina Vojinović expressed her understanding of the needs of its sitizens and the local labor market, inviting Pro.Tok21 to define the next steps for operationalizing this cooperation.

This meeting marks a significant step toward formalizing collaboration with the eighth local government within the E2E project framework, further proving that this model of support for young people and the unemployed is a sustainable and lasting solution.

The Education to Employment (E2E) Project aims to increase employability and employment, fostering inclusive and sustainable economic development in Serbia. By uniting public, private, and civil society actors, E2E facilitates career decision-making and integration into the labor market for all.

The meeting was attended by the mayor and representatives of the E2E project, Oliver Streit and Milena Janković, as well as Nataša Rašković, in front of the local partner organization Pro.Tok2 and Job Info Center Smederevo.
