E2E workshop for the promotion of local self-government capacity held in Belgrade
E2E workshop for improving the capacity of local self-governments was held in Belgrade
Recently the “Education to Employment” (E2E) project successfully organised yet another workshop dedicated to the strengthening of local self-governments’ capacity to analyse local labour market. This time it was in Belgrade. This educational initiative gathered together the representatives of local self-governments, local employment branch offices, and local E2E partners from the City of Belgrade, Južnobački, Podunavski, Mačvanski, and Kolubarski counties.
The “Education to Employment (E2E)” project, a multiyear partnership endeavour of the Governments of Serbia and Switzerland, organised this workshop with the goal to create an environment conducive for a more efficient employment, particularly youth employment. For eight years already E2E has been maintaining cooperation with the stakeholders in employment area, private sector and civil society. It promotes their mutual cooperation for better positioning of youth on the labour market.
The focus of the workshop was on the analysis of local labour market. It provided critical information for the development of local employment plans. This analysis may also be used in the creation of other relevant public policy documents at local level. Bearing in mind limited capacity of local self-government and their procedural obligations under the 2018 Law on the Planning System, the workshop provided support to the participants in the process of their development of local employment planning documents. The goal was to facilitate the identification of main challenges at the local labour market and choose suitable measures to overcome them in an effective and pragmatic manner.
The workshop was conducted by Irma Lutovac, consultant of the E2E project with multiyear experience in analysing employment policy. After the theoretical part, the participants were given opportunity to directly communicate with the presenter, which allowed them to give an active contribution to the improvement of a current or a future employment-related planning document.
E2E proceeds with its commitment to capacity strengthening and supporting local communities so as to promote the employment prospects, thus contributing to the sustainable economic development.
